"Blue Nights Dream"
This fantastically colorful ring is full of Tuscan influence! With its stunning bands of color and specks of glowing 24kt gold leaf intertwined, sitting atop of your hand, you are sure to attract plenty of attention and compliments! Made in Italy and part of the Di Murano Collection. All of the unique designs in this collection are hand made by artisans in Murano, in the heart of Venezia, Italy. They are produced in very small factories and sometimes in the glassmakers' homes, so there is no form of mass production. The techniques used today are the same as were used since the 1200's. Avventurina' was invented by Murano glassmakers during the first half of the XVIIth century. It was given this name because the process was tricky and of uncertain success and was called an “adventure” . The preparation of “avventurina” is long and delicate, resulting in the formation of small sparkling copper crystals. It was kept a closely guarded secret for centuries. The glass is removed from the furnace in blocks, after having been slowly cooled. Once cold, it is cut like a hard stone, and made into fine crystals that is worked into many of the most famous Muranese glass works.
