Four years ago I sanded this down, repainted, and replaced the exterior hardware. It is completely functional, but to be totally forthright the inner drawer tracks have the most wear which will cause a couple drawers to slide off the tracks (you just have to wiggle it to get them back on). The mirror is screwed on in the back and could be easily removed as well.
