I just finished making Jer a flag pallet. When a friend saw it, she gave me an idea to take orders for these to help with bills, etc. while Jer is off work for surgery. If you don't know, my husband Jerry Thomas Leed was having some really bad headaches last year (he's had them forever but last year they got really bad), so bad he went to our family doctor. The family doctor sent him for an MRI, which showed a cyst on his pituitary gland and a tumor behind his left ear at the base of the skull. At this point, he was referred to a specialist in Pittsburgh. We went to see Dr. Engh, who then referred Jer to another specialist, Dr. Gardner. Dr. Gardner thought there was nothing to worry about as they were small. He did want to see Jer back in 6 months to see if either the cyst or tumor grew by doing another MRI. This past week, the MRI showed the cyst grew 20-30% bigger since January. He recommended it be removed due to issues, as the cyst would continue to grow, which could mess with his vision, taste, smell, and hormones. This is why it was decided to have the cyst removed. So on Fri, August 12, Jer will have surgery. He will be in the hospital 2-3 days and off work for 6 weeks. During this time, he can walk (just not overdo it), no bending, sneezing, coughing, and no lifting more than 5 lbs. The only thing that my hubby has been worried about is paying the bills and feeling bad as I will need to do a little more than usual (which is where the boys come in ). I told him God didn't give us this if He didn't think we can handle it and get through it. So...I will be taking orders for the flag pallet and selling them for $40.
