****PARKING LOT SCAM ALERT UPDATE*****
This is what i have found out since I reported being scammed in Costco's (Selma) parking lot and then an attempt by the same guy to scam my husband in Lowe's (Schertz) parking lot....
From those that have responded to my posts, it appears this guy has been doing this for at least 10 years all over Bexar County year round. His story has remained pretty much the same with a few tweaks here and there from time to time: from Corpus Christi; came here to buy a used car; car broke down; wife drove off with his satchel; can't reach her 'cause her phone is dead; wife/daughter is about to deliver twins, water just broke, he needs to get there; he is a retired pro-baseball player; has plenty of $$, but none with him; will re-pay you; gives you his phone number (no answer, mailbox is full); has access to and can give you autographed sports memorabilia for your trouble, etc. He was interviewed by a local news station in 2013 and openly admitted to scamming folks out of thousands and thousands of $$!! Graduated from John Jay High School; went to McNeese State University (LA), was a pitcher and was drafted to the Montreal Expos in the 12th round of the 1979 MLB draft;
My description:
** 6'3", 200 - 210 lbs, well-dressed black man with a light complexion in his late 50's
** Clean shaven, no hair, hazel eyes
** Square (or square set) "diamond" studs in both ears
** Rides in a silver/gray Dodge Neon with a female accomplice driver
** Very smooth talker--has an answer for every objection you pose
I filed a police report with Schertz and Selma Police Depts, with a mug shot and the car and license plate--both are aware of him. Solicitation without a permit is illegal in both jurisdictions, as well as San Antonio. Schertz PD even posted a Public Service Announcement yesterday based on Facebook posts.
I was asked to be interviewed on Fox News yesterday and the interview aired at 10 pm last evening. I provided a description of this guy along with his mugshot, but apparently they have to have confirmation that he is a suspect before they can legally air a mugshot. Numerous folks have posted a mugshot of him....without a doubt he is RONNIE CHARLES CALDWELL, see picture....he has quite a record, including sexual assault. Google his name and click on the links to see what he looks like clean shaven with no hair. I am determined to reduce this guys income!!! Please help me by sharing this post!
