Vintage Venezuelan Cuatro built by J. Luciano Nuñez F., includes case. Instrument is in good playing condition with minor dents, etc., and wear from age and use. It includes a vintage case which has some marks from prior tape/stickers, holes in vinyl, wear to inside felt, and 1 broken lock clamp.
I don’t know how old the Cuatro is but I researched and contacted the family shop where it was made (now called “Nuñez Guitarras” which can be found on Facebook). The nephew of Luciano replied confirming his uncle had built the instrument and that Luciano had died over 30 years ago. Another site stated that the Nuñez family has been making instruments for several generations.
The Cuatro was made in Quito, Ecuador. It measures approx. 30-1/2” long. It has some wear on the first few frets, a small ding in side of head stock, some minor chipping at bottom of fretboard, minor scratches and dings at edges.
It is together well with no issues - Strong where neck attaches to the body, no lifting or gaps at the saddle, no neck twisting or warp that I can tell, string action is okay. Tuning knobs work good, 2nd string tuner is harder to turn than others, but all work.
