*Well nurtured and have grown larger**
Here is the Wikipedia description:
Passiflora maliformis, the sweet calabash, conch apple, wild purple passionfruit, or sweet cup, is a smallish (5cm) passionfruit with purple, yellow or green skin and a greyed-yellow to orange pulp that is aromatically-scented and -flavoured. It is a fast-growing vine, growing best in somewhat cooler-than-tropical climates. The rind is particularly hard and tougher than most passionfruits. It is usually eaten fresh or used to flavour drinks. It is a native to the Caribbean, Central America and Northern South America.
I started the seeds at the beginning of May.
They were quite challenging to sprout, but since they’ve Sprouted they are growing quickly and love full sun to part shade.
I was able to sprout three so far.
There will be more on the way.
Passiflora maliformis likes a full sun to part shade position, rich well drained soil, prefers a somewhat cooler climate but fruits well in temperate and subtropical climates. Needs a trellis, fence or tree to climb over.
Could grow great in a sunny window during the winter months here in the Pacific Northwest.
More passion fruit varieties coming soon🤩
$15 a plant (Price will continue to go up the larger they get)
