Nothing says spring in the south like magnolias and butterflies!

The ancient Greeks believed that a butterfly was a human soul, loosed from a deceased body. In China, the butterfly can mean both immortality and marriage. For some Christians and Native Americans, the butterfly is a symbol of rebirth. For addicts, it is a symbol of recovery.

Magnolias symbolized dignity and nobility. In ancient China, magnolias were thought to be the perfect symbols of womanly beauty and gentleness. In the American South, white magnolias are commonly seen in bridal bouquets because the flowers are thought to reflect and emphasize the bride's purity and nobility.

After proper prep, this box was painted in a soft creme and striped and highlighted with a custom turquoise blue before distressing to give it the look of a family heirloom handed down for generations. Decorative magnolia blossoms and butterflies were decopauged all over including the back to give it a bit of character. The original velvet lining and hardware was cleaned. New felt feet were added to protect the surface of your furniture.

The box measures 14” wide x 9” deep x 10” tall.

Two generous drawers open from the front and the top flips open to reveal a vanity mirror with 9-count necklace hooks, ring rolls, 4 count earring and 2 watch compartments.
