Vintage Schneider Cake Breaker with Butterscotch Bakelite Handle.
This is a vintage cake breaker/cake slicer. The handle is made of Bakelite in a gorgeous butterscotch-colored, diamond-shaped handle.
The metal neck reads "Schneider Toledo Pat. No. 1858-790". Patent dated to 1931. This was made in the 1930s and would be great as a vintage kitchen decor or cake slicer.
It measures approximately 11 1/4" long and 4" wide.
This is in great vintage condition, with a tiny dark spot on the Bakelite, some slight discoloration, and some surface rust on the tines.
It is ideal for cutting delicate and dense cakes that are hard to slice without squashing; the tines gently break it without pushing down on it. Very pretty at the luncheon, tea, or dessert table.
