We had new siding placed on a house back in October, but it was the wrong style. They removed the siding and put up the correct style in November. When they were done we had all the panels they removed (Dutch lap) and several boxes of the new panels (clapboard) left over. Installer said they must have ordered maybe 10 squares too much and it is still in the boxes.
The Dutch lap is what was removed. It covered about 1700 sq ft. I threw out any small pieces and ones with the nailing strip or bottom lip cut off (used for the top and bottom rows). The remaining panels are either usable as is or can be cut down to a usable size (they may have a hole cut in them for an outlet or light). The nailing strip still has plenty of usable slots for nailing to the wall. I have no idea how many square feet this will cover. Guesstimate would be maybe 1000 to 1200 sq ft.
This likely won't cover an entire house. Maybe three sides of a small one story house. Or you could use it on a detached garage, treehouse or shed.
Note that this is the panels only. No starter strips, J channels or corners. Those could easily be purchased in an accent color like white.
The name for the color is adobe cream. It is simply a pale yellow.
I'm asking 50 cents a square foot. Siding costs between $1.00 and $2.50 depending on the quality. This is a medium quality siding at .044".
