I never used it, but was intended for me to hang a light fixture in a room with no pre-existing ceiling fixture.

I bought the light fixture and had the hardware store cut 4 foot 3 inches tubed wiring for it, it's ready to use.

You can cut it shorter, I didn't end up needing for ceiling or wall, I bought lamps instead. Waste to just throw away and cannot return it as they made it to measure
