Handmade Steel Birdhouse

Just designed and built a handful of birdhouses to try and hone some metalworking skills. I’ve read that the only real downside to metal birdhouses is the heat factor if placed in direct scorching sunlight. Just be sure to place in an environment with plenty of shade. The upside is this birdhouse will last decades and never rot away. Will also do a better job keeping hatchlings safe from predators as they will not be able to chew through the steel. This is the first bird house I’ve ever made and the first three will have the solid brass eagles incorporated. The welds are atrocious aesthetically, but structurally it’s affixed. There is white oak casing around the door and a white oak floor board that is held in place with 3 bolts. It’s easy to remove and replace when the time comes to clean out abandoned nests or what have you. There are a couple coats of metallic urethane for a UV / moisture protected rustic paint job. There is a panoramic perch made of aluminum flat bar. A heavy duty eye-bolt at the top that can be held by any rope or chain of your choosing. Also if you’re interested I’ll consider welding a stand together that you could stake into the ground and use as a pole for the birdhouse if you do not have a tree or structure to hang it from. The birdhouse is roughly 20” tall and 12” in diameter. Thanks for looking!
