Brand New-In the original box 1940's Push-Toy. This is the original GI Joe! This toy was manufactured here in the USA in Southern California back in the 1940's by a father and son who were both Vets. The father GI Elmer fought in WWI and the son GI Joe fought in WWII. The father and son team created this push toy that never went to market because of a dispute with Mattel regarding the GI Joe name. You will see on the metal the Patent number and that it is pending and never was patented because of the dispute. These toys sat in a warehouse for years until the 1980's when my family bought them. At that time the toy had an appraisal of approx. $59.00 each.
