It has an 'auto' setting which decides all the settings for you, so basically point-and-shoot. But it also has a few different 'manual' settings as well that let you decide which settings you wish to control. There is also a 'fast motion' setting that I always used when taking photos of sporting events such as rodeos, track and field, and football.
