OLD PAWN NAVAHO SLAB TURQUOISE NECKLACE

Slab necklace from Richardson's Pawn Gallop N.M. this came from the back room of the pawn shop in 1972 and the place was legendary for quality. The Navaho Indians would use their jewlery for currency and most of the old stuff was passed down. The hanging pieces are actually earrings, worn by men and women, and hung on the necklace when not being worn in the ears. They are attached with deerskin strips and both pieces are a beautiful sea/ green and blue color from the skin oils of the wearer as they are not plasticed like the new stuff coming from China and the South/West nowadays, it's junk. I believe this to be from the 1940s or early 50s great patina which takes years of wear. Mother of Pearl corn kernals and Red Coral accents. I will be sell other OLD PIECES also as I only collected the best stuff that I could find
